When fireplace restoration is different from a repair
A component repair addresses a defined problem in an existing fireplace. A broader fireplace restoration request may involve the firebox, hearth, surround, masonry, or other connected parts when the goal is to retain more of the existing fireplace. A new fireplace installation is a different path because equipment, fuel, venting, clearances, access, and finish work can all affect the scope.
Describe what is damaged, what you want to keep, and whether the concern is functional, structural, or visual. That gives the estimate visit a clearer starting point than treating repair, restoration, remodeling, and replacement as interchangeable terms.
